2026 Virginia 10 Miler Draws Field of Elite Female Runners
The 2026 Elite Field for the Moore & Giles Virginia 10 Miler is comprised of twenty-six men and fifteen women representing Kenya, Ethiopia, Bahrain, Ukraine, and the United States. Ethiopian Werkuha Getachew, the Silver Medalist in the 3,000 meter steeplechase at the 2022 World Championships, has returned to defend her 2025 10 Miler title where she looks to improve upon last year’s time of 54:53. She will be challenged by:
Bahrainian Bontu Rebitu who competed in the World Championships at 5,000 meters.
Sophia King of Richmond who was third in this year’s Broad Street 10 Miler in Philadelphia in 53:42
Tristin Colley, a 2:25 marathoner for Raleigh
Jessa Hanson, from Flagstaff Arizona, who has a PR of 54:20 for 10 miles
Christina Welsh of St. Petersburg Florida, winner of the 2026 Miami Marathon
