celebrating 50 years

Where Hospitality Meets the Road

Join us as we embark on an exciting 51st year of the Moore & Giles Virginia 10 Miler on September 27, 2025.

About Us

The Moore & Giles Virginia 10 Miler held its first race in 1974. The events’ growth over the years has been an exciting journey, as we have watched participants challenge themselves, families grow closer, the running community become stronger, and so many runners reach milestones they once only dreamed of. The Moore & Giles Virginia 10 Miler has had the privilege of hosting many elite runners over the years, including Bill Rogers, Alexi Pappas, Jared Ward, Frank Shorter, Rod Dixon, and Joan Benoit Samuelson, and more.

Lynchburg ROad Runners Club

Since 2007, stewardship of the the Moore & Giles Virginia 10 Miler has been held by the Lynchburg Road Runners Club (LRRC), a proud member of the Road Runners Club of America. The LRRC has been promoting fitness through running for over 30 years in the Lynchburg community.

Group of people, including men, women, and children, gathered outdoors for a running or fitness event in front of a building with banners that read 'Inspire Movement' and 'River City Runners, Lynchburg, VA.' They are dressed in athletic clothing, some in running shoes, and are smiling and posing for the photo.

I love this race. I love the cheering community along the course and the music along the course. The starting line is always fast and not too crowded. The course is hard, and I love it.
